Training


Officer Training

Every security officer selected by Western Area Security Services must complete a rigorous 3-phase training program. Beginning with classroom instruction, officers study company policies and procedures, as well as basic security techniques. Some of the subjects covered include public relations, patrol tactics, civil liability, emergency procedures, and report writing skills.

The second phase of training consists of site-specific instruction. It is in this stage of training that officers become familiarized with the requirements of individual clients including client facilities, policies and procedures, and job duties. Officers assigned to larger accounts are cross-trained at each specific post, ensuring complete, professional, reliable coverage of all specific assignments. Both the on-site Account Supervisor and our Account Managers regularly conduct additional review for updates of client policies and procedures with all account personnel. All post training is supplemented by a complete set of post orders.

The third phase of the training process consists of refresher-training classes. These classes allow officers to review their decision-making processes, and learn from real life situations, thereby reducing the potential for errors in the field.
